For nature lovers, there is the gorgeous National Botanical Garden of Bangladesh, located right next to Dhaka Zoo, includes more than 50,000 species of plants.

There are some good local Bangladeshi style and oriental restaurants in Mirpur but it’s not the first place foodies think of for fine-dining. Mirpur isn’t really known for its local shopping scene either, there are still some good shopping outlets to choose from. Although Mirpur is a bit distant from Gulshan and Dhanmondi (especially in Dhaka traffic), there are several well-established schools, hospitals and religious centres. Mirpur hosts a number of well-respected medical facilities and institutions such as Delta Hospital, Selina General Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, Dhaka Dental College and MARKS Medical College & Hospital.

Religion is a significant part of life for the residents of Mirpur and there are plenty places of worship to choose from. For example, Masjid Al Kuwait Al Kabir is one of the biggest mosques in Dhaka. There is also Baitul Azmat Jame Mosque, Sarkar Bari Mosque and Mirpur DOHS Central Mosque, which are some of the well-known mosques in Mirpur.
